• Start planning now! It’s finally time to finish high school and celebrate with the perfect ball. Have a think about your budget and consider applying for a part-time job if you don’t already have one so you can save enough money for all the things that you want.
   
• Make a list of everything that you think you’ll need and estimate the costs. You can also download and print our ‘Ball Budget Buddy’ to help you keep on track of your spending.
   
• Start taking lots of notice of the styles you see and like in magazines and on celebrities so that you can get some inspiration for your perfect ball look.
   
• Think about who you would like to go to the ball with as your date.
  
  

• Get yourself a date! Start finalising who the lucky boy is going to be.
   
• Organize and book the limousine or car that you will travel in. All the best cars get booked out way in advance so get in early.
   
• Make a shortlist of your favourite dresses. If your dress has to be specially made or modified you will need to allow time for this.
   
• Start practicing your beauty treatments so you get them perfect. If you are applying your own fake tan start practicing now so that you know which is the best product for you. If you are doing your own nails, practice doing them every week so you are a pro at it by the end of the year. If you are planning to get any facials or body treatments done, think about doing them now as well so you can see how your skin will react.
   
• Start organizing and deciding upon pre and/or post ball parties.

• Make sure that your date knows what colour your dress is so that he can co-ordinate.
   
• Finalise your decisions about what shoes and accessories you will have on the night. Buy the handbag, jewellery etc that you will need now.
   
• Order your date’s boutonniere and/or tie.
   
• Make sure that you have everything booked that you will need such as a Hairdresser and Make-Up Artist. If you are applying your own make-up and doing your own hair, start practicing! Practice every chance you get so that you get it perfect.

• Get spray-tanned, manicured and pedicured etc now.
   
• Relax! You will look perfect and no-one will notice any little imperfections anyway except you so don’t stress. This will be one of the most beautiful and fun nights of your life.

• Confirm with your date where you will be meeting and at what time etc.
   
• Pick up your date’s boutonniere and listen to how the florist tells you to keep it fresh before you give it to him.
   
• Charge your mobile phone and camera. This is not the night to run out of battery charge!
   
• Have a snack because you may not get to eat again for a little while.
   
• Have a shower and then get started on your hair and make-up. If you have to do your hair and make-up before you shower then shower very, very carefully afterwards. Maybe even take a bath.
   
• Give your self at least an hour to get dressed and ready. You want everything to be perfect and unrushed.

• Have a dress rehearsal in your dress and with all your make-up and hair done etc. This is really necessary. You need to see how it all comes together and make sure everything is how you want it.
   
• Make a last minute list to see if you have done everything so that you don’t forget anything important.
   
• Get your hair cut and coloured if you need to.
   
• Ring around and confirm everything such as the car hire company, your spraytan, the venue etc.
