Gap Year Travel
Taking time out from education to have fun, see amazing sights and meet incredible people, may sound like the stuff of dreams but could also boost your confidence, your skill set and bolster your CV up above that of your competitors. Travelling across the globe to another English speaking island might seem daunting at first, but the excitement of experiencing a new, albeit similar culture, without the struggles of a language barrier, or the huge culture shock that can come with visiting places like Asia or Africa, with their vastly different diets and religions.
A gap year in the UK can be as exciting, culturally rich or intellectual expanding as you want to make it. Another option is to work, at home for he first 6 months of your gap year, saving your money, then travel for the next 6 months without having to worry about working, unless something catches your eye and you feel the experience is worth it! This type of travelling enables you to try things and move around a little more freely than if you are tied down to a place of work for an extended period of time. Britain has amazing coast line, hills and mountains, rivers and lakes, an exploration of these shows strength and determination.
Returning to education following a gap year shows a real commitment to your own education and you may find that you are more focussed on your return than you have been in the past, that you are ready for the pressures of university education armed with the incredible memories of your OE.
